Owned and operated by the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, KMBI has a rich heritage dating back to 1959, when KCFA (AM) signed on the air. Christian Services, Inc., the owning group, then established KCFA-FM in 1968. In 1973, the Manager retired, and Moody Bible Institute was approached (among other entities) about buying the stations. Through much prayerful consideration, the Lord allowed MBI to purchase these facilities, and KMBI-AM and KMBI-FM officially signed on as Moody stations on July 1, 1974.

Not only is KMBI heard in Eastern Washington, Northern Idaho, Eastern Oregon,Western Montana, British Columbia and Alberta, Canada, but now by as far away as Nova Scotia via the Star Choice satellite. Isn't technology great?   I'm so grateful for how the Lord has touched countless lives through the years by means of solid teaching programs and the great inspirational music you hear each and every day.  It may not always be exactly what you most enjoy listening to, but know that the Lord is using this medium to make a difference for eternity.  It's my earnest prayer that the ministry of KMBI is more than just 'filler' in the car, home, or work but rather a source of encouragement and strength in your daily walk with the Lord and a tool for spurring you on in reaching others for Him.  If you've never listened, check us out.  I think you'll enjoy what you hear.
